All Souls College, Oxford

A holistic building energy calculation methodology was used to identify energy performance improvements to Staircase X at All Souls, achieving a 90% reduction in energy demand.
The 8 optimal measures for cost effective emissions reductions:
1 – Roof Insulation
2 – External Wall Insulation (internal)
3 – Cellar Ceiling Insulation
4 – New Windows
5 – MHRV System
6 – Heatpump System
7 – Solar Thermal System
8 – Low Energy Lighting

Many options were modelled and costed to arrive at this final list of 8 measures.
